With over 35 years of experience, Mike’s journey began at just 16, training in the building trade before becoming a CORGI fitter.

He then spent 20 years mastering his craft—15 years fitting fires alongside his father for a local fireplace shop in Christchurch and another 5 years in Winton—before deciding to build something better.

Frustrated by the high prices and profit-driven mindset of big fireplace shops, Mike set out to create a company that put quality, transparency, and fair pricing first. That’s how Quality Fireplace Fitting Service, now rebranded as Dorset Fireplace Fitters, was born.
